Shopify case study / Fashion store
A Shopify store with the calm, elegant feel of the clothes it sells.
01 / The challenge
What the site had to do.
Fashion buyers judge a brand in seconds, mostly on a phone. The store had to feel premium and quiet, show each collection the way a lookbook would, and still make buying simple: clear prices in Pakistani rupees, quick access to the cart, and policies that answer questions about exchanges and shipping before the customer has to ask.
02 / My role
What I built.
Shopify store setup and theme customization: the theme's look and sections adapted to the brand, products and collections organized for seasonal drops, the cart drawer, announcement bar and newsletter sign-up, the store's policy and information pages, and the apps for discounts and sales notifications.
03 / What's on the site
Built to be used every day.
The brand has a store it can run itself: a new collection is added in the Shopify admin and appears with the same look as the rest of the shop, and the policies, cart and sign-up flow are already in place for every launch.

The store
Shopify, set up for a fashion brand that launches in seasons.
The House of Noire sells in collections rather than as one long catalogue: a Fall collection, a Festive collection, the Soié line and the pieces featured on the home page. The store is organized the same way. Each collection has its own page, products can sit in more than one collection, and the home page pulls from a dedicated collection so the brand can change what customers see first without touching the design.
Prices are in Pakistani rupees, because the brand sells to customers in Pakistan, and the store's information pages cover what Pakistani shoppers ask about most: exchanges and returns, shipping, and the terms of sale.
The theme
A customized theme that looks like the brand, not a template.
Rather than build a theme from zero, I started from a solid Shopify theme and customized it heavily to the brand's look, then renamed it for the store. That gives the brand a stable, well-tested base that keeps working through Shopify updates, with the colours, typography, layout and sections changed to match the clothes. It is usually the right choice for a new brand: the money goes into the look and the launch rather than into rebuilding features a good theme already has.
| Part of the store | What it does for the customer |
|---|---|
| Slide-out cart drawer | Adding an item opens the cart at the side, so shoppers keep browsing instead of leaving the page |
| Announcement bar | Short messages such as a new collection or a delivery note, on every page |
| Newsletter pop-up | Collects emails for the next drop |
| Collection pages | Each season is shown together, like a lookbook |
| Policy pages | Exchange, return, shipping and terms answered before checkout |
Apps
Only the apps the launch needed.
Every Shopify app adds scripts to the store, so the store runs a short list: a discounts app for promotions and a sales notification app that shows recent purchases. Both load through Shopify's own app extensions, which keeps them out of the theme code and easy to remove later. Everything else, from collections to the cart drawer, uses Shopify and the theme directly.
Working remotely
A direct client in Islamabad, built from Lahore.
The client is in Islamabad and I work from Lahore, so the whole project ran online, and the store was handed over with the brand able to add products and collections in the Shopify admin on its own.
Questions
The House of Noire FAQs
What did you build for The House of Noire?+
The Shopify store setup and a heavily customized theme: the brand's look, the collections, the cart drawer, announcement bar and newsletter sign-up, the policy pages, and the discount and sales notification apps.
Why customize a theme instead of building one from scratch?+
For a new fashion brand, a well-built theme customized to the brand launches faster, costs less and stays stable through Shopify updates. A fully custom theme makes sense once a brand needs features no theme offers.
Can you set up a Shopify store for my clothing brand?+
Yes. I set up Shopify stores with a theme customized to your brand, collections for your seasons, and the pages and apps you need to launch. Projects start at $500.
Do you work with brands in Pakistan?+
Yes. I'm based in Lahore and work with brands across Pakistan, as well as clients in the US, UK and Europe.
