Who these terms are with
This website, bealinawaz.com, is run by Ali Nawaz, a WordPress and Shopify developer based in Lahore, Pakistan. In these terms, "I" and "me" mean Ali Nawaz, and "you" means anyone who uses the website or hires me. By using the website or its free tools you accept the parts of these terms that apply to that use. When you hire me, these terms apply to the project together with the written quote we agree on. If the quote and these terms disagree, the quote wins.
Questions about these terms go to bealinawaz@gmail.com. How I handle personal data is covered separately in the privacy policy.
Using this website
The articles, guides and examples on this website are general information based on my own project work. They are written carefully, but every site and store is different, platforms change, and a step that is right for one setup can break another. Test any change on a staging copy or with a full backup first. Nothing on this website is legal, tax or financial advice.
The text, design and images of this website belong to me, apart from third-party trademarks and logos, which belong to their owners. You may quote short parts with a link back to the page. Please don't copy whole pages or republish the guides as your own. Code snippets in the guides may be used freely in your own projects.
Prices shown on the website, such as "Projects start at $500" and the migration price bands, are starting points. The price for your project is the one in your written quote.
Free tools
The free tools on this website are offered as they are, with no guarantee that they are complete, accurate or always available. Check the results before you rely on them, especially before you import files into a live store, change redirects, or edit a database.
- Most tools run entirely in your browser, and what you enter is not sent to me. The tools that need a server (the CMS detector, platform checker, redirect checker and hosting checker) request public pages or public DNS records once, and don't store the results. Each tool says which kind it is under the tool.
- The server-based tools have usage limits so they stay fast and fair for everyone. Don't try to get around the limits, run them automatically at scale, or use them to probe, overload or attack any website or server. I may block any address that does.
- Only check or import from websites you are allowed to. For example, only copy products from a store you own or have permission to use.
Free WordPress plugins
My plugins published on WordPress.org are free and open source under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later, as WordPress.org requires. That licence, not these terms, sets what you may do with their code. They come without a warranty. Support is given on each plugin's WordPress.org support forum when I can, and is not guaranteed.
Hiring me for a project
Audit and quote
The first website audit is free and doesn't commit you to anything. Before any paid work starts, I send a written quote with the scope, price and timeline. Work outside that scope, including new features or extra rounds of changes requested later, is quoted separately and only starts after you agree to it.
Payment
Invoices are in US dollars. The usual split is 50% in advance, which starts the work, and 50% on final delivery, before the site goes live or the files are handed over. Bank fees and currency conversion charges on your side are paid by you.
What I need from you
- Content, images, product data and logins on time. Delays in receiving them move the timeline by the same amount.
- Confirmation that you have the right to use everything you give me, including text, images, fonts and product data.
- Access to hosting, the domain and any accounts the work needs. Paid plugins, apps, themes, hosting and other third-party services are bought in your name and paid by you, unless the quote says otherwise.
- Your own backups. I take a backup before risky work, but the site and its data remain your responsibility.
Support after launch
Every project includes 15 days of free support after launch, for fixing problems in the work I delivered. After that, ongoing maintenance is billed monthly, or per task if you prefer. New features are not support and are quoted separately.
Who owns the work
Once the project is paid in full, you own the website, theme, plugin or app I built for you, including its code and design. Until then, the work stays mine. I may reuse my own general tools, code snippets and know-how in other projects, but never your content, data or branding. Third-party themes, plugins, apps, fonts and images stay under their own licences.
Cancelling a project
Either of us can end a project by email. If it ends before completion, the 50% advance covers the work done up to that point, and you receive that work. If very little work was done, I may refund part of the advance; that is my decision. If the work done is worth more than the advance, I invoice the difference, and you only owe for work actually done.
Confidentiality
Logins, customer data and business information you share with me are used only for your project and are not shared with anyone else. I remove my access when the project ends, or when you ask.
Limits of my responsibility
I do my work with care and fix problems in my own work during the support period. Beyond that:
- I'm not responsible for problems caused by hosting, outages, third-party plugins, apps, themes or services, platform updates from WordPress, WooCommerce, Elementor or Shopify, or changes made to the site by you or someone else.
- I don't guarantee search rankings, traffic or sales. Search engines decide rankings, and many things affect them that no developer controls.
- I'm not responsible for lost profits, lost revenue or other indirect losses.
- For any project, the most I could owe you, for any reason, is the total you paid me for that project.
Nothing in these terms limits responsibility where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and the courts of Lahore have jurisdiction over any dispute. Before anything formal, please email me. Most problems are solved quickly by talking.
Changes
If these terms change, I will update this page and the date at the top. A project keeps the terms that applied on the day its quote was accepted.
