WooCommerce and Shopify migration redirect generator.

This free redirect generator turns your old store's URLs into 301 redirects for a WooCommerce to Shopify or Shopify to WooCommerce migration. Paste the old URLs or a sitemap and download a ready file for Shopify, Apache .htaccess, Nginx, the Redirection plugin or Rank Math, so search rankings and old links follow your products to the new store.

Everything runs in your browser. Your URLs aren't uploaded or stored.

Every product URL changes when you switch platforms.

WooCommerce and Shopify use different URL structures. A WooCommerce product at /product/blue-t-shirt/ becomes /products/blue-t-shirt on Shopify, a category at /product-category/t-shirts/ becomes /collections/t-shirts, and a blog post moves under /blogs/news/. Without redirects, every link from Google, social media, emails and other websites lands on a 404 page the day you switch.

A 301 redirect tells browsers and search engines that the page has moved for good. Google passes the old page's ranking signals to the new address, customers who bookmarked a product still find it, and the links other websites gave you keep their value. Missing redirects are the most common reason a store loses search traffic after a migration.

Create migration redirects in three steps.

1. Choose the direction of your migration and paste the old store's URLs. The easiest source is the old site's XML sitemap: open it in your browser, copy everything and paste it in, and the generator picks out the URLs. A Search Console pages export or a plain list works too. When moving from Shopify, you can also read every product and collection URL straight from the store.

2. Check the settings. If your WooCommerce store uses a custom product base such as /shop/ or /store/, or your posts live under /blog/, enter it so the patterns match. The result updates as you type.

3. Pick the format for the new platform and download the file. The note under the output says exactly where to import it.

How old URLs are mapped.

The generator recognises the standard URL patterns of both platforms, including custom WooCommerce bases and Shopify's language prefixes such as /en-ca/:

Old URLNew URL
WooCommerce /product/blue-t-shirt/Shopify /products/blue-t-shirt
WooCommerce /product-category/clothing/t-shirts/Shopify /collections/t-shirts
WooCommerce /product-tag/summer/Shopify /collections/all/summer
WordPress post /2026/01/sale/ or /blog/sale/Shopify /blogs/news/sale
WordPress page /about-us/Shopify /pages/about-us
WooCommerce /my-account/Shopify /account
Shopify /products/blue-t-shirt or /collections/x/products/blue-t-shirtWooCommerce /product/blue-t-shirt/
Shopify /collections/t-shirtsWooCommerce /product-category/t-shirts/
Shopify /collections/allWooCommerce /shop/
Shopify /blogs/news/saleWordPress /sale/ (or under your blog prefix)
Shopify /pages/about-usWordPress /about-us/

What Shopify and WooCommerce won't redirect.

Shopify only applies a redirect when the old path is a 404 on the Shopify store, and it reserves some paths: anything starting with /cart, /shop, /apps or /orders, plus /products and /collections themselves, can't be redirected. The generator leaves those out and lists them, together with WordPress system URLs such as feeds, author archives and pagination, which don't need redirects. Shopify also ignores query strings, so redirects are created for the clean paths only.

On WooCommerce the .htaccess rules go above the # BEGIN WordPress block, and each rule matches its path exactly, with or without a trailing slash, so a rule for one product can never catch another. I tested the generated rules on Apache 2.4 before publishing this tool.

After the switch, open your 20 most visited old URLs from Search Console and confirm each one lands on the right page. Then watch Search Console's Pages report for new 404 errors over the following weeks, and add redirects for anything the sitemap missed.

WooCommerce & Shopify Redirect Generator FAQs

Do I need redirects when moving from WooCommerce to Shopify?+

Yes. Shopify uses /products/ and /collections/ URLs, so almost every WooCommerce URL changes. Without 301 redirects the old URLs return 404 errors and the rankings and links they earned are lost.

How do I import redirects into Shopify?+

In the Shopify admin, open Content, then Menus, then URL redirects, and choose Import. Upload the Shopify CSV from this tool. Standard Shopify plans allow up to 100,000 redirects.

Where do I add redirects on WooCommerce?+

Use the .htaccess file on Apache hosting, the Nginx file on Nginx servers, or import the CSV into the free Redirection plugin or Rank Math PRO if you prefer to manage redirects inside WordPress.

Can the tool read my WooCommerce store's URLs automatically?+

Not directly, because most WooCommerce stores don't let other websites read their product lists from a browser. Paste the store's XML sitemap instead; it contains every product, category, post and page URL.

Will my old URLs keep their Google rankings?+

A 301 redirect passes the old page's signals to the new one, so rankings usually recover within a few weeks if every important URL redirects to the matching page and the new pages carry the same content.
