What to plan for
Texas has had a consumer privacy law since July 1, 2024. Larger businesses need a privacy notice that lists the data collected, why, who it is shared with, and how customers can use their rights. Even a small business may not sell sensitive data, such as precise location or health details, without consent. Forms and tracking are planned with this in mind.
Accessibility claims against US business websites commonly reference WCAG 2.1 AA. Semantic markup, keyboard support, form labels, and color contrast are built in from the start rather than patched later.
New Braunfels' combined sales tax rate is 8.25%. Texas mostly sources local tax to where a Texas seller is based, with extra rules for some deliveries, so a WooCommerce store's rates, exemptions, and order reports are set up with your accountant during the build rather than fixed after the first filing.
New Braunfels businesses
New Braunfels sits on I-35 between San Antonio and Austin, where the Comal and Guadalupe rivers meet. Busy season
Traffic in New Braunfels is seasonal in a way most websites aren't built for. The city's own Tube Chute on the Comal only runs tube rentals and lifeguards from May through August, and outfitters along both rivers do most of their year in those weeks. Then November brings Wurstfest, which runs from November 6 to 15 in 2026. A booking site that is slow or breaks on a July Saturday loses the bookings that pay for the quiet months.
So I build for the peak, not the average. Pages are cached and images compressed so they load fast when everyone is searching at once. Booking and payment are tested under load before the season opens, and staff get a simple way to post "river closed today" or "sold out for Saturday" from the WordPress dashboard. In the off-season, the same site switches to gift cards, event packages, and early-bird offers instead of sitting idle.
Short-term rentals
Many cabin and house owners want their own booking site so they pay fewer platform fees. In New Braunfels that site has to fit the city's short-term rental rules. The city requires a short-term rental permit and an annual fire and life-safety inspection, and a one- or two-family home must be permitted before it is advertised. The city's hotel occupancy tax of 7% applies to short-term rentals, on top of the state's own hotel tax, and returns are due monthly.
Your website can't handle the permit for you, but it can make the paperwork easier. If a store later grows into other states, the rules change. The Texas Comptroller sets a $500,000 threshold for out-of-state sellers, and other states have their own. I set up tax so your accountant can adjust it without a developer, and I can connect a tax service when you need one.
Time zones
From November 1, 2026, when US daylight saving time ends, Lahore is 11 hours ahead of New Braunfels. In summer it is 10 hours. Calls fit roughly between 7 and 11 a.m. Central in winter and 8 a.m. to noon in summer, which is my evening. You review the staging site during your day, I work through the changes overnight, and a written summary is waiting when you open.
